@bystander We are the jerks, not God. He is very clear in the Bible that all sin leads to death.

@Carazaa It defines sin and then terrorises anyone who fits its definition. Of course, those definitions are flexible, so you never know when it might decide to throw a hissy fit at you. The thing positively adores death, and grabs any excuse to kill as many people as possible.

@bystander You say that because you do not know his heart. He wants us to be loving ALL the time. He is not going to put up with people calling him names, or not loving people. He will burn down that town, yep. Jesus suffered a terrible death so we can be forgiven, all we have to do is repent.

@bystander Yes many have suffered terrible deaths. But only Jesus did NOTHING wrong ever. Only He is God who visited us. He suffered for people who hate him because HE loves us. Would you be tortured for people who hate you? 🙂

Your Jesus character didn’t even have to face permanent death, because it was god killing itself, or some such nonsense.

@bystander He visited us as a baby born in a manger, had a body like yours, and was tortured until he died. He did it for us. Yes he came back to life like we wil come back to life after Jesus comes if we die before. Don't minimize what he did. It was painful. He didn't have to do that for you, but he did because he doesn't want people to go tp hell for their sins. I think he is coming very soon, maybe this year 2021, maybe 2023, maybe sooner.
