Using God's name in vain is saying things like "Oh my God, not that" or "For God's sake don't do that". Religious people frown on saying things like that.

@HairbrushDiva It also means to use the name of God as a way to manipulate people. There are many who pretend to be religious but do it for social standing, to get people to give them things or help them or whatever. Not much different than outright mocking.

@cherokeepatti Oh yes, I've seen people like that on here before.

@HairbrushDiva I’ve seen them in real life too. And there are mega-church preachers who do it daily….some of them are almost demonic when they are caught alone and asked about why they needed to spend the church’s money on private jets etc.

@cherokeepatti I don't know anybody in real life who owns a private jet. I only know one guy who is rich enough to afford one and I don't think he's got one. Most people around here aren't all that rich unless they win the lottery (which that guy did).

@HairbrushDiva I’m talking about a mega-church preacher, Kenneth Copeland. He is spitting mad when he was asked by someone why he thought it was necessary to buy private jets (more than one) instead of flying commercial. He looked demonic in fact. There is a video of him being confronted by an Inside Edition reporter on You Tube. Watch the entire video to the end.

@cherokeepatti I think I've seen his name before. I don't know anything about him though.

@HairbrushDiva I think most of the mega church preachers are compromised.
