Do you read the Bible? The Bible never speaks of reincarnation.

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 yeah but I don't take the bible too literally
Hmmm....Why call yourself a Christian if you don’t believe it literally? It’s God’s word? @Summersrain

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 The Bible does mention being "born again". Reincarnation is just about the only way I can see that happening.
Being born again is not about a physical birth, but changing one’s life to follow Christ. @NakedExperiment
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 I'm not sure what that means.
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 I don't have the faintest inkling what changes would be required.
We are born sinners...without Christ. When we accept Christ as our personal saviour by asking him into our hearts we are born again. Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins. Start with the book of Matthew in the New Living Translation....easier to read and understand. @NakedExperiment

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 I wasn't born a sinner! That's deeply offensive!

How can I be born a sinner????
It’s not offensive....we are all born sinners. We all inherited sin from Adam and Eve. Obviously newborn babies don’t know when we tell them no, but by 2 a child knows the word no and learns as he grows to do right and wrong. If you can read the 10 commandments and say you’ve done 2 of them such as lied or perhaps taken something that wasn’t yours is sin. We all do it. Every last one of us. We all have a sinful nature.
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 You cannot inherit sin. That concept is pure evil and the cause of SO much death and suffering.
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Please don't tell me what is and isn't offensive. You have the right to offend me, and you have (which is fine), but you don't have the right to dictate what I should and shouldn't find offensive.
Sure...no problem. I think I’m done here. I was just trying to explain to you that everyone has a sinful nature. @NakedExperiment
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Well thank you for trying.
We live in a fallen world....when Adam and Eve broke God’s rule of eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil...everyone born after them inherited their sin. Read Genesis. @NakedExperiment
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 I have read Genesis numerous times. Just because it's written does not mean it's true. Much of Genesis is simply wrong anyway.

I can't believe that the concept of inheriting blame is anything other than deep, deep evil. It's morally faulty, structurally damaging and brings no benefits to society. Holding anybody accountable for their ancestors' actions is petty, unintelligent and downright unhelpful.
There really isn’t more I can say here. @NakedExperiment
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Fair enough. No problem.
@NakedExperiment @MissMollyCharlotte0702 Demographically a huge number of Christians report believing in reincarnation. Something like 1 in 4 or 1 in 5. It's also a thing that there were early Christians who taught and believed in reincarnation. Origen of Alexandria and gnostic traditions.
I was never taught reincarnation. Christian churches don’t teach reincarnation.@CopperCicada
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Me either. I'm just saying 1) demographically is is not unusual and b) there is a historical precedent.
I just don’t believe that a person dies and comes back a bird. What a horrible thing to look forward to. I look forward to God’s promise...Heaven...my eternal home. @CopperCicada
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 That is correct. In fact, it states just the opposite. Jesus said that it is appointed once for a man to die, and after that, the judgment.
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Eternal = hell. An eternity of anything at all would become mind bendingly boring.

No-one has ever defined a Heaven concept which seems appealing.
@NakedExperiment you are correct. The Bible does speak of being "born again". This is the meaning of it. The first time you were born, you were born "of the flesh". However, when one unites with Jesus and accepts him as their personal savior, they are "born again". That is, their spirit unites with God's and therefore is referred to as being "born again", only this time, it is the "second birth", meaning we are born in the spirit. The first birth is of the flesh, the second birth is of the Spirit. That is why Jesus referred to this transformation, as being born "again".
I actually beg to differ. According to scripture Heaven is anything but boring...it’s just like here, but better. No pain,No fear, No sickness....animals, mountains, oceans, lakes, flowers, children, babies, our loved ones....when I have eternity with my mother it will be far from boring. People with near death experiences describe it as like no other....and they are saddened when they are revived and have to come back. @NakedExperiment
