If you need a book to tell you how you should behave as a wife, then I don't think that makes you a very good wife at all. Just makes you someone who follows instructions that are ancient.
Being a Christian Wife certainly doesn't make you better than someone who isn't a Christian wife.
This idea that because someone believes in something that cannot be proven, that there is no evidence of, somehow makes you a better person is ludicrous. As a matter of fact, most people who are not Christian often times are far better people than those who would say they are Christian. Further, I think a person who is a good person without the instruction of a religious organization are actually better people, they need no instruction they are just simply good people.
So tired of Christians shoving their crap down everyone's throat, touting their belief in something that very well could be totally wrong. Considering that Christians are responsible for some of the most reprehensible acts throughout history, I wouldn't want to be labelled as being a Christian.

@CesareBorgia wow a little over sensitive I'd say. Nothing in her post suggests she thinks she is better than anyone else. Nothing was shoved down anyone's throat. She didn't even suggest others should agree with her. Simply stated she loved these biblical verses. You are in no danger just because someone believes differently than you do.

Very simply put, it's an excuse to advertise your religious beliefs. It's sad, but similar to when people on other social media sites will post a picture of someone suffering from an illness, then watermark their religious site across the picture and tell people to like and share with a comment of amen.
It's advertising, and it's not wanted by those of us who know better. Christians think they are being clever, sly, as if they are getting over on others by exposing them to their garbage in this way. It is disgusting.

@imLobo when did you crawl out of your forsaken hole?
GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
@imLobo I'm not challenging his belief. I just stated the obvious that the post made NO mention of one being better than another. She just stated that she is a Christian wife and loved these verses. That certainly doesn't constitute shoving anything down anyone's throat. People post regularly about having sex with their brother, sister, mother, father, even their dog. I never feel threatened by those post, that just their reality or fantasy or what ever. It's an open forum where all can share can share and we can all choose to like or ignore. Fortunately it is not against the law to be a Christian.

Lol, so now God owns a business?
Prove god exists, and then maybe we can have a conversation. Until that time, until you can freely admit that you might be wrong about your religious beliefs, you are not going to be able to talk about anything related to gods non existence. This means you have a closed mind, Christians have a closed mind and can only refer to their "belief" and "faith" yet can provide no proof of anything.
What this amounts to is trying to spread a fantasy about a life after death but only if you can believe in something there is no proof of.
You might need to believe in a god in order to behave like a decent person, I do not. I think people who are good, without the need to believe in a god, are better.
How about we have a conversation about genocide, about stoning pregnant women who were raped, about murder, pillaging, plundering, attacking people of different religions and murdering them and on and on. These are things that relate to stories in the bible, would you have an issue discussing them?
Did you know that the Christian religion is derived from the Jewish faith? Did you also know that Jesus Christ was a Jew, not a Christian? Did you know as well that the Jewish people believed that the Messiah was a person who would lead the Jewish people, to free them from Roman rule? Did you know that the Messiah was not considered by the Jewish people to be the son of God in the way that Christians claim, and that he was not sent to "save" anyone from sin but to save the Jewish people from the Romans?
Are you willing to have a very real, frank conversation about the Christian belief?
How about this, we can have a real conversation where we both provide proof and evidence of where the stories, like the great flood, originated from?
Or how about this, who would you say I was talking about if I stated these things:
Was born of s virgin on December 25th in a cave/manger with his birth being announced by a star in the East and attended by three wise men.
His earthly father was named Joseph.
He was of royal descent.
At age 12 he was a child teacher in a Temple, and at 30, he was baptized, having disappeared for 18 years.
Was baptized in the river by a Baptizer who was decapitated.
He had 12 disciples.
He performed miracles, exorcised demons and raised from the dead.
walked on water.
His personal epithet was ever-becoming son of the Father. He was called the Holy Child.
He delivered a Sermon on the Mount
He was crucified between two thieves, buried for three days in a tomb, was resurrected.
Titles: Way, the Truth the Light; Messiah; God's Anointed Son; Son of Man; Good Shepherd; Lamb of God; Word made flesh; Word of Truth.
Was the Fisher and was associated with the Fish, Lamb and Lion.
He came to fulfill the Law.
If you thought I was describing Jesus Christ, you are wrong. I was actually describing Horus.
Horus existed about 5000 years ago, that's 3000 years prior to when Jesus Christ was born. Where do you think the stories of the bible truly came from?
Considering that the Jewish people migrated to Egypt, and existed there in peace, working, living and only much later becoming slaves to the Egyptians, you might begin to understand that they would borrow much of the beliefs of people they lived so closely with, and adopted them to serve their own belief system.
If you ever want to have an intelligent conversation about your religious beliefs, and are willing to keep an open mind, consider the facts and evidence as they exist then we can have an intelligent conversation. Until that time, people like you who would put forth their religious beliefs as truths, are really just lying regardless if that is their intent or not.

@imLobo Or 12, one of which was a woman. Again, you can only state what you believe, and yet have absolutely no proof of.
How about we talk about Osiris, the earthly father of Horus...
Had well over 200 divine names, including Lord of Lords, King of Kings, God of Gods, Resurrection and the Life, Good Shepherd, Eternity and Everlastingness, the god who "made men and women to be born again."
Coming was announced by Three Wise Men: the three stars Mintaka, Anilam, and Alnitak in the belt of Orion, which point directly to Osiris' star in the east, Sirius, significator of his birth
Was a devoured Host. His flesh was eaten in the form of communion cakes of wheat, the 'plant of Truth'.
The 23rd Psalm copied an Egyptian text appealing to Osiris the Good Shepherd to lead the deceased to the 'green pastures' and 'still waters' of the nefer-nefer land, to restore the soul and body, and to give protection in the valley of the shadow of death...
The Lord's Prayer was prefigured by an Egyptian hymn to Osiris-Amen beginning, 'O Amen, O Amen, who are in heaven. Amen was also invoked at the end of every prayer.
The teachings of Osiris and Jesus are wonderfully alike. Many passages are identically the same, word for word.
As the god of the vine, a great traveling teacher who civilized the world. Ruler and judge of the dead.
In his passion, Osiris was plotted against and killed by Set and "the 72."
Osiris' resurrection served to provide hope to all that they may do likewise and become eternal.

@GJOFJ3 This is yet just another example of a Christian advertising their belief. A good wife does not need to advertise being a good wife, nor that they follow the instructions of some mystical tomb. A good wife is just simply a good wife, something a wife, or husband, or mother or father should be. You don't get any points for being as you should.
If you truly are a good person your actions speak for themselves, you should have no need to advertise the fact. You certainly do not need to post your religious beliefs that you may or may not follow as proof.
This is how Christians conduct themselves, using any excuse to post their beliefs, ever attempting to convert people to their own beliefs. It is proof of their intolerance and lack of respect towards people who believe differently. I do not see any other religious faith doing anything similar. On and on, every day it's Christians shoving their beliefs down everyone's throat. It's just simply very bad tact.

@CesareBorgia I respect your belief in Osiris. I'm not bothered or threatened by it in the least. I would read with interest any post about that.

I never said I believe in Osiris, I only post this as proof of a story that is so similar to that of Jesus Christ as to be suspect as being the true story, and the story of Christ simply adopting the story of Osiris and of Horus. Horus actually was more similar to the story of Christ and came 3000 years before the story of Christ.
What do you think are the odds that the Egyptians hit on the exact story of Jesus Christ, 3000 years before he came to be, and yet had nothing to do with the Jewish belief which had yet to be developed, nor the Christian belief that came long after Christ's death?
Point I am making is that the stories of the bible, pre-date the bible, the Christian religion, the Jewish faith or the concept of monotheism.

@CesareBorgia if someone states as a fact about themselves that they are Muslim or Hindu or Buddhist I never see that as shoving their religion down my throat. The same holds true if they say they are Christian. If someone say he is an atheist I do not see that as an attack on any religion just his personal belief. I seriously do not understand why a man would feel threatened by a Christian woman.
GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
@CesareBorgia so then why hate the Christian story if it is just retelling an older story?
When someone posts propaganda, regardless of the reason they are posting it for, they are advertising their religion. This is a common tactic of Christians, the only religious belief that uses this tactic on a regular basis. This is what this post is. If the original poster was not doing this, she would have posted this message in the religious groups she belongs to. She wouldn't have posted it as she has.
I don't hate anything about any of these stories, you are assuming, and attempting to label my intent as you please. I am simply posting what is true. The Christian belief has borrowed so much of what it might claim belongs to it, from ancient stories many times thousands of years older than the Christian belief.
Christians should respect other people and not use excuses like this to post their propaganda in an attempt to expose non-believers. Deceiving is a sin after all.

@CesareBorgia I just want to know where you get the impression that I think or have alluded to being better than any other wife simply because I'm Christian? I never said such and it wouldn't be true either way. But I am both a wife and a Christian, and as such that is how I choose to put myself out there.
I merely posted a lovely post with good intentions and sentiments therein and hoped to find other women who identify in the group similar to myself. That's called human nature: to seek out others of similar interests and/or culture.
If that's such a horrible thing to you then I guess I'm horrible. Oh well.
