How can i help my child with autism
Hi. I am looking for some help and advice.
I have a son who just turned 7 he has autism and learning difficulties social an seperation anxiaty an selective mute he is big for his age and doesnt know his owm strengh. He is very defensive when other children touch his things. He has a slide an trampoline an other garden toys where we lived (at nanny an grandads house) we signed for keys for our own home 1st feb this year an by the 4th feb all our fences got kicked in so the dicision for the toys to be left at namnys until we got a fence wasnt taken lightly but didnt want them being stolen. And because we live by main road the back garden has been out of bounds as i feel they not safe out there. I wont even put my washing out there. The kids from nannys neighbours come over to play with my other 2 children at nannys house. an my 7 yr old cant deal with it an kicks out punches bites scratches. Since we moved the other children also say "you dont live here anymore so its not your rules" it kills me knowing he cant handle it. So i called the housing office to be told there is a further 10-12 week waiting list for our fence to be replaced so gonna be aug/sep before its fixed. Its stressing him out and also me out. To the point he is hurting others himself an even got caught hacking chunks out of his own hair with safty scissors. It has been 3 months of pure hell what should have been the start to our happy home.
Has anyone else experienced this or know how i can help him.
