What are we seeing?

@samueltyler2 this is a brooder, a box or cage used to raise poultry chicks up to they have enough feathers to keep themselves warm. I used scrap lumber and cinder blocks to build the walls to section it off from the rest of the shed. Then laid a black tarp down on the concrete floor to both make clean up easier as well as keep the babies of the cold concrete. I used left over loose hay for bedding. I found an on cherry limb that Loren had cut and put it in so they can learn to roost on it. The container on the right is the waterer the other behind the light is the feeder.

The idea is the blocks as well as the black tarp will help hold the heat. Chicks chill and die very easily and are prone to pneumonia from drafts.
