Last One Laughing - Canada

So basically, there is a show where some of the top comedians of Canadian nationalities are in a room together, and they aren't allowed to laugh or they lose the game, and the last one left wins.

It is overall pretty goofy and silly, and I'm not really sure I understand the humor in what they are doing. Yeah, there are a lot of styles of comedy, but this one escapes me completely.
