Why did people seem to hate Rosie O’Donnell?

I just remember growing up and people seemed to dislike her? At least that’s how it seemed. As a kid, I only seen her on The Flinstones and I loved that movie. Later on Curb Your Enthusiasm. If she’s good enough for Larry David, she’s good enough for me 👍

Probably something political? I don't know. I saw her at a charity event around '96 or 7 along with Kevin Spacey(another person who elicits strong reactions), and they both did a great job of raising money for a charity. I don't have to agree with someone's politics to like and respect them as people.
