The Pope returns to Rome
Pope Leo XIV returns to Rome after a historic four-day Apostolic Journey to France, with major stops in Paris, Lourdes and Metz.
In Paris, revisit the Holy Father’s prayer at the restored Notre-Dame Cathedral and the extraordinary gathering of thousands of young Catholics at the Stade de France, followed on Saturday with Holy Mass at Place de la Concorde with 800,000+ present.
Follow Pope Leo to Lourdes, where he prayed as a pilgrim at the Grotto of Massabielle, met privately with victims of clerical sexual abuse, and called on the Church to “heal her wounds, infidelities and painful errors.”
At the Marian shrine, the Pope also defended the dignity of human life, warning against what he called the “false compassion” of euthanasia and assisted suicide.
And in Metz, Pope Leo addressed some of the most pressing questions facing Europe today, calling the continent to rediscover its Christian roots while welcoming and integrating migrants amid profound demographic and cultural change.
