So it is the Pope’s funeral tomorrow at ten

There will be thousands of people and lots of heads of state, princes and princesses, all kinds of nobility. The Papal police will be assisted by the carabinieri (my Dad’s force) and people like the American President and the British Crown prince will have their own special security.

I imagine the nobility here, although not recognised by the Italian government, will be in attendance, especially papal princes and the Generals of the monastic knightly orders. The college of cardinals will retire to choose Pope Francesco’s successor directly afterwards.

We will be watching the telecast since the crowd will be huge, and we queued for a few minutes viewing him in his coffin. He looked at peace but he had been so frail and he gave his last breath ministering to his flock on Easter Sunday. I am so very sad to see him again. I’m cooking tonight so I don’t have to be in the kitchen tomorrow.

Thank you so much for reporting on this and letting us know what you see & think there.

So is your father a carabinieri/Italian policeman?

It's a sad time for the catholic church.
Thank you for that
