I Am Roman Catholic

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande, Arizona refurbished the small original Spanish-style Church and then infused it with the Spirit of Vatican II. Re-baptized the “Divine Mercy Chapel” it was filled with a hundred conference room chairs (no kneelers of course). A gaudy “Divine Mercy” poster was hung on the wall in back of the altar (which has no Crucifix on it) and the Crucifix behind the altar was shoved to an inconspicuous place to the left of the altar – replaced by a bonsai tree – front and center behind the altar. This is the venue for daily Mass and Adoration.

What is most discouraging is that the priest can get away with it in this instance. Daily Mass is generally attended by the most devout and tradition-minded members of the parish.

@beckychandler: What would be his motivation to put that poster there?
