I have spoken briefly about the Secular Franciscan tradition
The Secular Franciscan Order (OFS) is a formal branch of the Catholic Church for lay men and women, as well as secular clergy. Members live and work in the world but commit to a lifelong Gospel way of life following the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, rather than taking traditional religious vows.
The OFS is structured into local communities called fraternities, which gather monthly for prayer, fellowship, and spiritual formation. If you are interested in joining, the standard process is as follows:
“Come and See":
Attend a few local meetings as a visitor to get a feel for the community.
Inquiry:
Begin a structured period of learning about Franciscan history and spirituality.
Formation:
Participate in a formation program that generally lasts around two years.
Profession:
Make a lifelong, permanent commitment to the community.
