Do you think Humans will also go extinct?

The current rate of vertebrate extinction during the last century was two species a year
- this compares with two species every 100 years over the last two million years.

I don't think those statistics really apply to taking into question the longevity of Humanity, especially if you consider that we caused most of those extinctions through our advancing industrialization and development of land. I think the question is still open for ambiguity, as our advancement could lead us down the right or wrong path when it comes to the well-being of our race.

hi Annade
Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) was a prominent Protestant pastor who emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last seven years of Nazi rule in concentration camps.

Niemöller is perhaps best remembered for the quotation:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

There is a parallel here: First they came for the lions and I did not speak up because I am not a lion.

Then they came for the elephants..................
best wishes

@sogdianrock I see. Good quote. If You don't mind me asking, what's your opinion on the matter?

hi Annade
Thanks. It is a holocaust of sorts. I have learned animals are people too and yet we eat them even. I am now vegan one week! I have been vegetarian 3o years though. My opinion this is serious. I wish you well.
