@DallasCowboysFan: Yes, Farsi uses the Arabic alphabet but the language is not the same. Arabic and Aramaic, on the other hand, are very similar. Aramaic, as you probably know, was the language spoken by Jesus.
I have to admit that of all the languages I learned, Arabic was the most difficult, but not impossible. Writing from right to left becomes easier because the Arabic letters are designed to go that way, and so they flow with relative ease. Some of my Middle East friends have complimented me on my handwriting, to which I'm surprised because I thought my Arabic handwriting is atrocious.

@BadPam: I wonder if the word Arabic evolved from Aramaic? I have also wondered if Jesus spoke Hebrew, which seems natural if he was a Rabbi. And if he spoke Latin because Israel/Judeah was a Roman Province at the time ? Otherwise, how was he able to communicate with the guards that arrested him, Pontius Pilate, or even the customers he must have had as a carpenter?

@DallasCowboysFan: Remember, Jerusalem was a multi-lingual city, like Montreal is bi-lingual, although many people only spoke one language. Jesus came from a little backwater village and would have done business with the locals who spoke Aramaic, because a carpenter back then was like a private contractor is today.
Hebrew was all but forgotten in Jesus' time, the Jews having been first exiled to Babylon, then influenced by the Greeks, and finally taken over by the Romans. However, if the text of the Torah was still written in Hebrew, Jesus may have been able to read it.
The guards who arrested Jesus were those of the local Sanhedrin, not Romans. The palace guards of King Herod were Idumean probably spoke Aramaic. As for Pilate, although he spoke Latin, would probably have known Greek as well because it was the other common language. And in that case, Jesus may have known some Greek as would the Apostles who did business close to Jerusalem.

No. Sadly !
All some idiot has to do is say that 'their interpretation' of a holy book means another race must be wiped out. And it's your job to do it !
nothing to do with oil.
Thanos · 31-35, M
Uhm no that's not it
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
If you are a Baptist they invite you to a potluck dinner on Wednesday night. If you are Muslim they chop off your head. If you want to visit the Vatican or Salt Lake City you are welcome anytime. If you want to visit Mecca or Medina you are prohibited unless you are Muslim. They even post signs on their interstate to tell you to STAY OUT or you will be arrested. Infidels ( you and me ) are not welcome.
WorldlyWoes · 36-40, M
Yes, the only reason they exist is to fight the west and the west has caused horrible, horrible shit. It is insane how they've got away with it.
Thanos · 31-35, M
Exactly
BadPam · 61-69, F
Sure there would. It's not about the oil, it's about Israel. The United States is helping Israel, and the Muslim states hate Israel, so vicariously they hate the United States. Therefore the goal of wiping us both out is first on their agenda. Their next goal is total conversion. So even if there was not a drop of oil in the Middle east, you won't get rid of terrorists so easily.
BadPam · 61-69, F
Yes I do. To them Israel is a usurper of their land. To the Israelis God promised them that land in the Bible, and so they created the State of Israel after World War Two. They had to go somewhere, right? But the Palestinians, the majority of which are Muslims, didn't see it that way. Hence there has been war and hard feelings on both sides ever since.

@BadPam: okay 🤔 i think the reason is Western countries Been Robbing middle east for their oil wealth for years and all those terrorists seek is revenge 🤔 and well you might want to look into where they get their weapons from it's all politics and greed
BadPam · 61-69, F
@DoubleYewTeeEff: This whole Middle East thing is very complex, so I gave a very simplistic reason for the terrorism. The Middle East is being paid handsomely for their oil, so I doubt if the West is "robbing" them. Besides, we still have oil here too, mainly in Alaska, but most of that is going to the Far East for consumers such as Japan. Of course we are being well-paid for our oil too, so we are not being robbed any more than the Arabs are.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
Ummm, terrorists come from all over
Thanos · 31-35, M
@Jackaloftheazuresand: well middle East won't be rich can't afford to buy weapons from peaceful nations :p second middle East is only islams quite few Christians so there'd be terrorists but they won't be fighting for islam so can't call them Islamic terrorists 🤔
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
okay I'm bored😁
Thanos · 31-35, M
@Jackaloftheazuresand: yeah me too 😂 but i didn't get any responses what i expected
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
There still probably would be, they'd just be branching out less.
Thanos · 31-35, M
They were results of revenge no oil no attacks no revenge no terrorists
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@DoubleYewTeeEff: Yeah, that motivation would be gone, and that probably would do away with most the foreign terrorism they do, since outside nations would have had less reason to meddle. Though there'd probably still be internal conflicts generating some terrorism. We'd likely see less of it outside of there though.
Thanos · 31-35, M
@Xuan12: it happens everywhere I was talking about global terrorism
lorne13 · 61-69, M
no the US and Israel would find other reasons for invading
Thanos · 31-35, M
There's nothing there besides their oil wealth
lorne13 · 61-69, M
@DoubleYewTeeEff: doesn't matter, with an economy built on the military and war, a country will always need a target
Thanos · 31-35, M
@lorne13: i think you're right
Leggylawyer · 36-40, F
Terrorism is not exclusive to the Middle East or any oil producing area so yes it would likely continue
Thanos · 31-35, M
I was talking about Islamic terrorists
SW-User
There would be terrorists, just like there are racists. But they would be less relevant.
YMITheWayIM · 46-50, M
I'd like to
