Navy Airshow Disaster in Idaho — What Went Wrong?

[media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtTEBSC1yJc]

Two U.S. Navy EA-18G Growlers collided midair during a demonstration at the Gunfighter Skies Air Show in Idaho. In this video, Captain Steeeve breaks down the formation flying involved, what may have happened during the maneuver, and why airshow flying leaves very little margin for error. We’ll analyze the footage, discuss the ejection sequence, and explain how all four crew members survived this terrifying incident.

Captain Steeeve also shares insight into military demonstration flying, communication between pilots, and the incredible professionalism required to safely perform these routines in front of large crowds.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the crews, their families, and everyone involved.

My comments:

I wouldn’t exactly characterize this as “a miracle” as the Admiral did.

Here is a list of the air disasters in military air shows in the 21st century.
