@jshm2 Oh no, it was very, very real. AFAIK, there were no details of the type of explosives, construction of the IED, etc have been released.
It was placed outside the Visitors Center where visitors without a valid DoD ID can get a temporary pass. What’s amazing and really sloppy is that the entire base was searched after the brother called in a bomb threat and they failed to find it!
It was found by an Airman who alerted Security and the demolition team.
