Numerous high-ranking officers painted Mr. Hegseth’s Sept. 30 speech to hundreds of generals and admirals gathered at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia as a turning point in how his leadership style, attitude and overall competency are viewed in the upper echelons of the U.S. armed forces.

“It was a massive waste of time. … If he ever had us, he lost us,” one current Army general told The Washington Times."”

I understand they said he talked like a junior officer. Which he was. How could they take him seriously.

@Pfuzylogic As far as I can tell, Kegsbreath never completed any Professional Military Education (PME).

I’m not sure about the Army, but Air Command and Staff College (ACSC) was the USAF rank appropriate PME for Majors (O-4) and was pretty much a requirement for promotion to Lieutenant Colonel for line officers during the time Kegsbreath “served”… I believe that the Army also has the equivalent of Squadron Officers School (SOS) for Captains (O-3) to teach them the basics of leadership at a lower level.

I’m sure they must also have an equivalent to Intermediate Executive Skills and other PME courses that each of those assembled Flag Officers had to suffer through as well, only to be “lectured” by some wet behind the ears, trumped up town drunk who served only “at the pleasure of the demented pseudo POTUS” who just happens to be a draft dodger and convicted felon.

The Paranoid Drunkard and Demented Donnie certainly don’t know the very first things about how to run the military.

Look at the SIGNALgate failures—complete ignorance of the most basic tenets of OPSEC.

And while I have no insider knowledge of Kegsbreath, the more I observe him, the more I’m convinced he’s abusing more than alcohol. His behaviors and unstable mental state leads me to suspect that he is abusing anabolic steroids.

Have you seen the video where he tries to do a pull up? His hand position is wrong, he’s swinging and kicking his legs, and he fails miserably!

He can’t face a single questioner at his hearings without flying off into an unhinged rage. Not the person you want overseeing your military…

…unless you are Demented Donnie!

@MoveAlong In the military, flag officers are the senior officers who are entitled to fly a flag representing their rank or command.

They include:

In the Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps: admirals — rear admiral (lower half), rear admiral (upper half), vice admiral, and admiral.

In the Army, Air Force, and Space Force: generals — brigadier general, major general, lieutenant general, and general.

Essentially, any officer of one-star rank or higher is a flag officer. The term comes from the naval tradition of flying the officer’s personal flag on a ship or base to indicate their presence.
