Are you desensitized as part of training?

This might seem a little insensitive but it has merit.

As part of military training, are you subjected to visions of death to desensitize you? Seems like that would be a good idea so the shock of the first incident would be less. You need to be able to react effectively when your partner is killed next to you, not shut down crying and praying for your god to save you. I will mark this question for adults only.

I am desensitised by abuse as a child. Doesn’t mean I am not afraid though, and fear and a lack of sensitivity in a person with an assault rifle is not a good combination.

It doesn't happen in training. It happens in real life. I know from experience.

@rhouse That would explain severe PTSD after I suppose. Maybe they don't want to show death to new soldiers in case some of them run away?
