I'm at a weird crossroads in life

I have 2 years left of a degree to be a therapist, I wanna be a firefighter but I'm also looking into the army. But the army is a big commitment. I could do firefighter training while I do my degree and martial arts but I dunno what I wanna do 😬

I think regular society isn't for me, I'd rather be helping people and involved in the big picture rather than sat in an office somewhere dealing with the public.

Do it all and change your mind whenever you want. Having lots of possibilities can be maddening but it seems you have great focus on your interests. Good luck!

@RebelFox Yeah I'm gonna go to the army careers office tomorrow or monday, ring the firefighter training place as well.

@Ryannnnnn I didn't see this before I posted mine...lol....good luck.

BTW, if you decide to enlist, they will probably give you whatever you want if you qualify considering the current recruiting conditions. But do not let them talk you into anything you don't want to do.
And don't let them tell you that if you just sign here for the infantry you can change your job in basic training etc.....you will get whatever you sign up for.

I was an Army recruiter for several years. Many recruiters will tell you what you want to hear to get you in, so make sure everything is in writing. BTW, I was not one of those recruiters. I shot straight with my applicants.

Do what your heart tells you, so you won't have regrets later on

You could be a medic for the Army, or get some other medical training .
That would give you a solid background for a firefighter or EMT .

And you might be able to complete your degree while you are in the service.
BTW, the Army is behind on their recruiting numbers and they are giving people money just for shipping prior to October in addition to other bonuses.

Just an idea....
My cousin was a paramedic for the army. He couldnt live without the structure.
