Shes on the move......🙁

My daughter is in the British army. She has been 'on standby' since february to be send out to Eastern Europe in light of the situation in the Ukraine.
Well, she told us at the weekend she is going to Estonia at the end of June for 6 months. The reg. are going to replace the troops that are currently there, and she says that would have happened anyway regardless of the Russian advances.

Its her job, her life and she loves army life.
But, shes my baby girl and im sad she has to go.
Its gonna be a long 6 months......🙁

Long ago vet here. Be proud and support her! She'll need it!

Having had parents that really didn't care either way, that was important to me. Yet just didn't happen. 😞

It’ll Go quick and she’ll be good, she loves it and it’s an experience for her, it’s a good life, they are safe, my ex went to Afghanistan for 6 months, it’s hard on the ones at home.
You worry but she’ll be fine. 🥰✨

I'm sure all will be fine.

I remember my son heading off to live in Svalbard for 9 months and it was -50C when he got there! You never lose that parental concern

It’s supposed to be the biggest ever training exercise since WW2
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@justanothername what is?
justanothername · 51-55, M
@RubySoo The military exercises that your daughter is involved in. It includes troops from all the NATO countries including the US army. I think it’s something like 10,000 troups in total.

What does your daughter do in the army?
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@justanothername British troops are constantly there.they are just replacing the previous regiment who have done their 6 months. Shes a lance bombarder in the Royal Artillary.. Fire support team.

A MOTHER'S LOVE

It was your mother who loved you before you were born - who carried you for a long months close to her heart and in the fullest of time took God's hand in hers and passed through the valley of shadows to give you life. It was she who cared for you during the helpless years of infancy and scarcely less dependent years of childhood. As you have grown less dependent, she has done the countless, thoughtful, trouble-healing, helpful and encouraging things which somehow only mothers seem to know how to do. You may have accepted these attentions more of less as matters of course and perhaps without conscious gratitude or any expressions of your appreciation. You are rapidly approaching the time in life when you will be entirely independent of your mother. The ties which dependency has bound you to her may be served as you grow older, but the tie of mother-love can never be broken.

I can understand why you are worried. Your daughter is a hero and I thank her for her service
Good news is Estonia is relatively stable.
