I Am A United States Air Force Girlfriend, Fiance Or Wife

A poem I’m slowly working on...he hasn’t deployed yet or anything. But I just felt inspired to write it. Still needs more work and more lines...but what do you guys think so far?


He went far away from me.
All the way across the sea.
When I asked where he was to stay.
He said “I cannot tell you dear.”
That was hard for me to hear.
But it’s alright I guess
I guess it’s best to not know
For I’d be up all night watching the news.
Anticipating opening the door
To a man in Air Force blues.

This home is now just a house
I have the cars, trucks, and dog
But I don’t have my spouse.
When I drive through the fog
I think of him in his camouflage blouse.
