I Am a United States Air Force Girlfriend

I’m sorry. But the girls who say “my husbands rank is mine” and “we serve to” and all that just crack me up.

First of all, he earned his stripes. What did you do?

Second, yes it’s hard. It really is. I know and I haven’t even dated him long enough, but with how hard it is now, I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like later. (I still won’t give up I love him too much) but you don’t do the training they do. You don’t protect anyone like they do. You don’t do the 4am wake ups and march in step. I’m sorry. I know you make your own sacrifices at times. But again, YOUR HUSBANDS RANK IS NOT YOURS.

Throughout history, military wives have adopted the rank of their husbands as their relative social status.

Completely odd, but it's always been there.

They don’t do that today though, right?
Cause I’m saying this from a modern prospective. And even my man agrees that it’s stupid. However we’re mostly laughing at the girls who demand that to happen. @Abstraction
