@sogdianrock What's that?! Both my parents had been in the military, but before such things as a laser range finder would have existed, whatever tf it is! Is it like a dinosaur lamp, changing colours?

A laser range finder is a bit of kit attached to a sniper rifle which both tells you where the bullet will go - to the red dot and also how far it is.
A dinosaur lamp changing colours sounds a far fetched idea!
