Do you think China is going to play 'big brother' to N. Korea in this upcoming conflict?

I forget the word for it, but when I was a little hoodlum, we used to use 'little guys' to purposely antagonize certain people so they would get hurt and give us an excuse to fight. Do you think perhaps N. Korea is China's 'little guy'? Is China 100% in the tank with N. Korea? Is Kim just giving China the excuse they've been looking for for quite a while now?
I held stubbornly to the belief that China's leadership is 'cool headed' and objective in this situation and would go to great lengths to ensure continued peace, but I'm beginning to wonder now.

Well I think China stands to lose a lot if they did that however depends on what you would consider "peace."

I guess I could have this wrong and this is based on my observations but I always thought China was communist. I kind of thought that China and N. Korea get a long personality wise they seem to have the same goals except China seems a bit more manipulative.

They still have a religious sect in prison. I don't understand why but they were arrested like some years ago and there's 100s still in there. There was a big documentary about how cruelly they have been treated. If you think about it that's sort of what happens in N. Korea.

Then apparently dissents disappear a lot in China. They were talking about forced confessions and people disappearing after they were arrested.

Then there's lists of modern day ones that have disappeared as recently as last year.
