I Hate Retail Job

I know I've posted a lot of times on here about how I was discriminated against at my job at Macy's, but let me just state that even without the discrimination, I still would've hated the job.

The customers are extremely rude and love to talk shit behind your back and get you in trouble, the coworkers are extremely rude and love to talk shit behind your back and get you in trouble and overall backstab and betray you, and the managers are authoritarian (even totalitarian at times) and rude as well as ungrateful. Long, exhausting hours with little pay while I'm working extremely hard also doesn't make the mix any better.

Literally, I was working 6-12 hour shifts making only $9.00 an hour working like a slave while I'm being belittled and talked down to by either a customer, a coworker, or a manager about some stupid bullshit.

Retail environments are just absolutely toxic, and the discrimination I faced at my job was the cherry on top of the shit sundae.

Macy's is a shining example of a disgusting company that only cares about profit rather than it's employees.

I wasn't treated like a worker, or a human being. I was treated as if I were an item, a tool, an asset to the company, and then they tossed me away in the garbage once they were done exploiting me.

Retail is probably the last place I'll ever work.

You should be a speaker, pal. I understand what you mean. I've had to have a job since I was 13 years old, so that my family could survive. Being that doing what I do is illegal in Florida, since minors can't do any heavy lifting, I'm an unofficial employee. That means I get shitty hours, I'm a puppet in my bosses hands, and they can do anything they want to me. It sucks, but hell. Money is money. Gotta love America, am I right?

You're not the only one that has experienced this in retail. I've experienced some of those same exact thing. Unfortunately, a lot of big companies are like that, they only see the profit, not the humanity
