Well at least here in Canada, where nepotism is rampant despite being supposedly a liberal democracy. You'd think that kind of behaviour would only be prevalent in an autocracy or some poor shithole like Romania. Been trying to find a job for over a year now since I finished college, and nobody has hired me at all. Besides a dozen interviews out of probably 1000 job apps at this point, nothing.
Sure, I am technically self employed with my own venture in automation, so in the long term I'll do just fine, but currently not making money off it. I've tried applying on different platforms, applying both online and offline, applying to different cities, tailoring my resume for different industries, etc. Even the skilled trades which seemingly have a labour shortage, the employers are still very picky on who they interview and hire.
