I Hate Filling Out Job Applications

Honesty...    I fill the app out as honestly as I can, but I'm tired of the company being the dishonest party.  Do they think I'll sue if they say that they don't hire if you have a record?  Reality check, I would not be a sympathetic person to bring suit.
If you won't hire me for that reason, can't we be honest up front, then I can skip you and save us both time and energy.  Then I can try someone else.

On another note, online application makers - Learn that you need to allow for a wider range of responses.  One,when asking salary info from previous jobs and making it a mandatory field, some of us have low pay level entries so don't tell me that my $22 / month is invalid, because that is what I got paid.  That job was just as valid as any other.  Two, when asking for phone numbers, allow for extensions.  Many places use POS systems and the main number is just an automated system.  So, unless you like wading through "Press 1 for.." menu annoyances, give us room to enter the extension.  Also, don't limit fields to only what you have in a list box.  Either give an other option or allow for write in responses.  I've built enough databa<x>ses in my time to know that these faults are due to poor programming and in some cases out right laziness on someone's part.
So, note to companies, if you wish to have an online presence, at least hire good IT people to create it.  Otherwise, you are better off sticking to pen & paper.  Because a bad site that frustrates someone who wants a job, will only turn away a customer, because they have no reason to stay.

Well said.
They could hire a good IT folk to create a decent website, but the IT folk were fired so the managers can get a bonus.

Well said - that's why I won't work for anyone but myself!
