Do you do crime for a living?

As a generally law-abiding citizen, I only really get my impressions of criminals through news reports. But it seems like there is a whole underground culture of people who make a living at online scams, extortion, drug dealing, pickpocketing... If you are one of them I would love to know more about your perspectives on life!

Imagine that .. a liberal ..minimizing the negative aspects of a life of criminal activity ;-) 🤣

Look .. I get that environment and circumstances play a role in a lot of people getting involved in that life. Doesn't make glamorizing the life ok.

Two of the smartest people I ever met were young men of color who grew up very poor. The difference for them .. the family raising them insisted they not only achieve at school, but realize the full potential of their intellect. Both got degrees in Engineering. One went on to Ivy League for law school, a federal judge position for years and years in a private law firm. The other became a global VP of engineering for a pharma company. Two others under similar curcumstances also became engineers and went on to very successful careers of their own.

There is a path to a legitimate life making a better use of your skills and intellect than turning to grift. Wish more effort was put toward raising up those stories than this type of stuff.
@BrandNewMan How tf did this become political?
@MsSwan How is it? Its social commentary .. and a political joke ..

Free Speech ..
@BrandNewMan Who are you calling a "liberal"? 😡
And I am not glamourizing criminal life; I am interested in knowing more about it, just like I'm interested in knowing about other ways of living and thinking, like support for Donald Trump.
@ThePatientAnarchist Poking the bear .. but why an interest in criminal life ? Kinda my point .. more people need to be interested in lifting themselves in life, done legally

Can you imagine how much better society would be if that energy was turned the right direction by even 1/2 those who go down the wrong path instead?

"Wish more effort was put toward raising up those stories ..."

Why not take some time and write up those stories and the inflection points in their lives and the decisions they made and then post those stories rather than just knocking down this story?? Just a thought. 🤷‍♀
@sarabee1995 Its not knocking it down .. In fact I just did pretty much EXACTLY what you suggested .. and said I'd like to see that held up more than people choosing crime ..

@BrandNewMan I just went to your profile and I don't see the story??
@sarabee1995 Lol .. the response here

@BrandNewMan Right. Okay. The comment here does nothing but tear down his post. He posted something and you completely knock him down and chastise him for trying to engage with someone in that life and learn from them.

That is not even remotely close to what I suggested. If you wish more effort was put into raising up stories of people like the two that you describe, then do it. Shitting on this story is not the same thing. Not even remotely close. 🤦‍♀

@BrandNewMan Who am I? I'm nobody. I just saw you dumping on my friend's post and wondered why? Then I see you wishing someone would post something positive instead and I'm like, great idea, go do it. But I guess that would take more effort than you are willing to expend. So sad.

As for my posts and shitting on America? What? I love this country and wear it's uniform. Not one single post of mine has ever disrespected this country. I think you have me confused with someone else.

But, I am happy to discuss any of my posts. If something I've posted seems to you to be shitting on America, please, let's talk about it. I'm genuinely interested in how my posts are perceived.
