Who else is find it difficult to get a job in Canada ?

So I’ve been job hunting for over 4 months in Canda and I’m wondering if I’m the only one finding it difficult to land a job. Basically I hardly get any call back even the entry level jobs are not available anymore it’s frustrating.

i guess it depends where in canada you live...sometimes we hire for an entry level position and nobody applies...and it's not like we're paying minimum wage
@beermeplease I used to get the same non responses when I was managerial in retail and food service, it's like some people think they're too good for some jobs. However I used to say this, even $4.75 an hour is far better than $0.00 an hour, your unemployment only lasts for so many weeks, if you're even getting it in the first place.

Hi @beermeplease I’m Calgary where I’m located the situation is crazy and kind of frustrating honestly for me.

Ha @NativePortlander1970 I don’t even know why anyone would enjoy to be jobless, I’ll take any job that would give me any income.
@Rogo1 You would be very surprised how bad choosy beggars can be.

@NativePortlander1970 i honestly wish I would have those job opportunities as I would grab them with both hands .
@Rogo1 what about heading north like fort mac oil fields...are they still hiring? i know the pay is large up there...well it was in the past...i would have done that in my younger days...too cold for this old bc boy now
@Rogo1 Then start pounding the pavement each and every morning, start by buying a local newspaper and perusing the classified ads, and apply to each and every want ad with your updated resume.
@beermeplease I think the oil fields are always hiring, that is if Trudeau didn't shut them down.
@NativePortlander1970 he wouldn't do that...alberta would separate. to put it in perspective bc lumber exports to the states is something like 15 billion...albertas oil exports is something like 115 billion...that's one reason why their premier isn't on board with the rest of canadas premiers in retaliating against trump's tariff demands...
@beermeplease Smart man, he knows what's up.
@NativePortlander1970 their premier is a she...but yeah...too much to lose...i think in the end all won't be as bad...fingers crossed 🤞
@beermeplease Then she is a good woman, unafraid of standing up for Alberta, and Canada, a female Trump I would surmise.
@NativePortlander1970 perhaps....i don't know too much about her but i think the rest of the country is pissed at her...i could be wrong...we need to re-elect a new prime minister asap....trueadope is still our acting pm until that happens
@beermeplease Why are they pissed, because she appears to have the strongest economy of all the Provinces, are they jealous?
@NativePortlander1970 because she's pandering to trumps demands of a 25% tariff...25% increase to anyone would be crippling...i'mnot too familiar with it but now i think the pipe line to our coast will be extended...the first nations people in bc who were apposed of it going through their territory are now for it...i'd have to read up more on that though
@beermeplease Because she knows the truth of the promise behind the tariff, that Canada is to vet and screen immigrants better, as well as inspect all cargo ships better, because apparently terrorists are coming across the northern border as well.
@NativePortlander1970 i agree with that 100%...that's what i meant by i think trump will let up....we definitely need to do better. and our government knows it...i believe we will improve...not only are a riff raff entering the states via canada....some are staying here
