I've got friends who really think they are better off being unemployed now because AI is going to take all the jobs anyway

I don't say it, but I'm thinking yeah maybe all the jobs get swallowed eventually, but in the messy meantime you'll end up rioting in the street out of sheer desperation when the squeeze starts
