Do you think being funny at work is a good thing for your career?

LilPrincess · 41-45, F
I keep a multi million dollar organization up and running, 1000s of people have jobs, 650 plus stores full of product and people all over stocked up with goldfish leashes...so yes being funny has been good for my career
I rather laugh with other people being funny …. Not too much tho …
KarenDuponteDurose · 46-50, F
Yes! Most certainly.

In my career, as a deputy head teacher for little people (and I don't mean dwarfs!) the kids like a bit of laughter with their learning. Makes the day go quick, kids go home say they've had a fun time....they've learned some new things and their parents are relieved about it all...

Pretty much a win, win scenario to me.

@KarenDuponteDurose Seems like a good scenario to be funny.

Yes, people like other people who are funny.
As long as you are actually funny
@BiasForAction Im not funny but I make people listen to my bullshit anyways
Reflection2 · 41-45, M
well, around me, it never works. During work, its just work. After work, i don't like to talk about work.

There's a huge difference between being funny and being a joke.

Yes, as it builds camaraderie for the team

Having a sense of humor does help
Actually it is a very fine line. And if you’re on the wrong side you will never be taken seriously. If you’re on the right side? You’re looked at as witty and charming. Don’t get it wrong!

@SatyrService True, a very fine line.
funny is always a plus

especially if you are witty, you want to show that
