I got the job!

YAY!

More money.
More research, and much less "clerical" work.
I will be working directly for my boss' boss.

I do not know yet when I officially start. In any event, I am in the middle of two projects which still must get done. Then after I will start new things. My office supports three statistical surveys, yet I mostly just worked on one. Now I will expand to the other two. So much to learn! I hope they ease me into it!

I should have a drink now (I am at lunch) but I have to go back to work after.

Again, YAY!

My sammich just arrived!

Double yay!

I know to start, I will continue as before, since I have one crucial project I was in the middle of that only I can do and it must be done. I also have a long term project I need to finish.

But I will have a new boss (my boss' boss) who is fairly new and I've seldom worked with him before. My current boss is good, and commanding. His boss is not as good, and weaker. Also, he was born in China and has an accent that can be hard to understand. Maybe I should learn Chinese!

Addendum: I just realized I repeated some of the stuff I already wrote. Sorry about that.

@JoyfulSilence I hope the new boss turns out to be pleasant to work with!

Oh, he is a nice guy. Open, smart, non demanding. I just hope he does not mess up the admin stuff. Yet one of the supervisors under him knows her stuff, and is good at handling admin stuff. So I can always consult her.
