I got the job!

YAY!

More money.
More research, and much less "clerical" work.
I will be working directly for my boss' boss.

I do not know yet when I officially start. In any event, I am in the middle of two projects which still must get done. Then after I will start new things. My office supports three statistical surveys, yet I mostly just worked on one. Now I will expand to the other two. So much to learn! I hope they ease me into it!

I should have a drink now (I am at lunch) but I have to go back to work after.

Again, YAY!

My sammich just arrived!

Double yay!

When you say less "clerical" work, I hope you don't mind all the reporting.
I like to think that good results speak for themselves but in a corporate environment, everything has to be quantified (quantized too) and sorted in pre-approved categories.
When I start a new job or project, I tend to be mindful of joy killers or what processes could turn into them.

Microdata review, and the documentation and treatment of anomalies.

Zzzzzzz.
