AITA for telling a janitor she chose her life when she was complaining?

I'm an extremely young elementary school teacher, hardly old enough to drink. There's this janitor nobody can stand but I try my best to remain polite and civil with her. It's hard. She yells at everybody's students for everything under the sun. Complains about others staff. Doesn't actually clean anything. Will walk in the room and there's crumbs on the carpet and sticky floors bc she doesn't vacuum and uses dirty mop water. I keep my room as clean as I can. I sweep, wipe down, put chairs up, etc. I don't vacuum or mop though. Usually I just call another janitor in to fix her mistakes in the morning, he always does so without a complaint and we get along great. Everyone loves him.

One day the female janitor was irritating everybody. Little things that build up and even made a coworker cry because it pushed her over the edge. Again, I'm civil with her and remain as professional as possible. She was venting to me about how only she does her job, no other janitors do, (very far from what I have seen) that she should just quit, this place is a shit hole, etc...

Seconds later a small piece of paper drops from a students pocket. He keeps walking, he's 6yo and in the class across from mine. She absolutely loses it. So I bring her into a room to stop her screaming at him, his class, and the teacher.

She starts her complains again and says something nasty about the kid then that she was bitter about me making more than her. (She is paid minimum wage, unfortunately) I was fed up and told her "Well, Heather, that's the life you chose, that's not my fault. I didn't make the salaries. I chose this career and you chose yours. " She went to my higher ups and hasn't spoken to me since. AITA?

@CharleySmile Agreed . Sounds like she is lazy and not doing her job anyway sounds like the place would be well rid of her .
