Would you settle for a salary lower than your last drawn or current salary?

The HR of a potential employer asked me if I can come down on my salary expectations.
My last drawn salary is a little over 5000 pounds or approx 7000 USD a month and she wanted me to settle for 20% lower than that.

Would you do that?

Yes, for less work, and less responsibility, more paid vacations and more benefits sure 😊

@SW-User Thanks! Well its not healthy to work too much. And benefits and vacations are important! Do you like to have a lot of responsibilities or less? Less is worth a lot to me personally. May I ask why you ant to leave self employment for corporate?

@SW-User Oh flexibility of hours is important too, you might bargain that in too.

@Carazaa I once tried that back in Audi and I got a response that if you want a personal life, you should look at settling overseas. How mean was that. So I thought fuck it and I left Audi after 4 years + and joined Jaguar where I had no personal life at all 😭
