Would you settle for a salary lower than your last drawn or current salary?

The HR of a potential employer asked me if I can come down on my salary expectations.
My last drawn salary is a little over 5000 pounds or approx 7000 USD a month and she wanted me to settle for 20% lower than that.

Would you do that?

I guess that’s a personal choice and depends on your career goals.

At this point in my life I would look at whether I enjoy where I am. I don’t want to spend my time and energy somewhere I’m not happy regardless of the money. But that’s just me.

@Pinkstarburst That's a fair point and I agree with you. In my case, I cannot last in an organization where I don't enjoy the work. It's just not built in me. But again that's just me and others may think differently.
