I just lost my job after 13 years

I got a new job. 🙂🙂🙂

Earlier today I was informed by my boss that he decided to merge his practice with that of a colleague and he wouldn't need my services anymore. This would be as of January 1st.

I am still in shock.

He has made this decision due to the fact that business has not rebounded to the pre covid numbers.

There is the possibility for me to be hired at his colleagues practice, with a cut in both my title and salary.

Thing is that my boss and I had an agreement that I'd get 4 months notice if he decided to terminate my employment and he doesn't feel that he should honor that, due to covid.

Just needed to share this. As I said before still in shock.

@PTCdresser57 wow I’m very sorry to hear about that.
I know the feeling very well. It happened to me about this same thing in 09 just before Christmas what a downer.
I do believe that you probably have some options because you have some real solid set of soft people skills based upon your posting and replies.
You will be in my thoughts. I’ll rooting you on and so will the rest of your friends out here.

@Briggett Companies love to do lay-offs and fire people during the holidays. To them it is some kind of sick practical joke.

Mine was a production plant closing Leggs. Had nothing to do with the holidays. They actually kept the plant open for an extra 90 days to clear everything out and send supplies to other production plants.
