NBA's Chauncey Billups and Terry Rozier among 31 arrested in federal gambling-related investigation

It's probably the tip of a very large iceberg. People who gamble with bookies on sports are fools.

I had a friend in management where I worked. He made good money and he is intelligent. He placed bets through a bookie and you could always tell when things weren't going well, which was often. I used to tell him: "Jim, for gods sake if you want to bet on games go to a sports bar and bet with the patrons. I'm sure you can get far better odds there and have more fun too."

After I retired and moved away I lost touch with him but I don't think he ever learned.
