I Don't Gamble

I absolutely don't gamble. Never really bothered trying it out even if the thought ever did occur to me before.

One thing I have learned is that it can be and is so addicting. Not very many people are lucky for one thing, and a lot of people have so much very bad luck in gambling, from what I have seen and heard and all.

You can lose a portion of your money in gambling, and even more gambling can cause you to lose even more, and just trying and trying and still going on and all, you can actually lose all your money in the gambling and you'd still be paying off your gambling debts.

A friend of mine named Thomas Burgundy, who I mentioned in some of my previous story posts, speaks from the experience. How'd it all start and what went on with Thomas in this gambling you wonder?

It started with card gambling, and the cards go south. Then at the time he started to bet Football, Baseball, horse races, boxing, Hockey, wrestling, NASCAR races, etc. He bet all sorts of things and lost everything and he still had been paying off his gambling debts working lots of jobs and eventually became a mechanic and still continues another part time job to pay off his debts.

What exactly did Thomas expect? He had gotten no luck at all, and sometimes he had gotten very bad luck. It's what Thomas's dad told him: "It's the family curse, Thomas. If we didn't have any bad luck at all, we would have no luck at all. Or worse yet: if we did not have no luck at all, the worst case scenario would be in that we would have very bad luck. It's been in our family for generations, Thomas. It's the family curse, son. It's the family curse."

Truth be told, gambling and lots of it can be more than an addiction. It can be a curse. No luck at all, and even very bad luck in the worst case scenario can be all part of the curse in it all.

A lesson in life from all this is never base your luck on the roll of the dice. I would know this, because my great-grandfather Troy was a gambler, too. He lived in a small apartment with my great-grandmother and he would gamble with his income and eventually he would continually lose more and lose more, and that he eventually he would have to work double time and lots of overtime to gain back what he lost in all his gambling he ever did. This just shows that not very many people are lucky at gambling at all and that you must never base your luck on the roll of the dice.

Gambling can be an addiction, an OCD and OCO problem, and actually a curse, especially when no luck and even very bad luck can be and actually is part of the curse and all that. So my adivce to you is never base your luck on the roll of the dice. Don't go gambling and losing all your money and still be paying off your debts in this, cause it's just not worth it.
