When I was in Security at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas we escorted them off property and tresspassed them off all Caesar's/Harrah's properties globally. If they were guests of the hotel the manager on duty essentially evicted them while we escorted them to their rooms to pack up, then escorted them off property after tresspassing them. I know, card counting isn't technically illegal, the House just doesn't like advantage players. However, anyone caught cheating with devices are immediately detained, taken to the security office, then babysat until a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Officer arrives to arrest and charge them with illegal gaming devices.

@NativePortlander1970 How often did they have to kick people out?

They’re being watched by numerous overhead cameras tracking their every move. The bigger casinos have substantial security departments in large part dedicated to catching cheaters. Pit bosses and dealers probably have ways to weed out those who seem suspicious. They get banned from the casino.

Yes, it takes a ton of focus. Theres a fe strategies, but mainly and everycard has either a plus 1 or minus one. 10-K are minus 1.....and 9 and below are plus 1...you keep a running count when the shoe begins and whenever the count is positive there is a slight edge to hit a =10 card when playing Blackjack....
you can get banned, but technically counting cards isn't illegal. they can try to intimidate you and be pushy.
