I Want to Start My Own Business

I see this as a business opportunity. I bet this stuff is very nutritious for your garden. I could possibly turn this into awesome organic fertilizers if I can get it to Hawaii.

Hmm, you could probably make a big float out of all that plastic in the Pacific and float it out to you. 😉

@SimplyTracie Someday someone will build a floating factory that will use all that plastic as a raw material for something really cool that we'll all buy. 😁
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sarabee1995 That would be awesome. 😊

I don’t think the toxins produced by this stuff makes for good fertilizer. It’s not really “real” algae - it’s bacteria, some of the earliest stuff to come around on the planet - we likely owe our atmosphere to the stuff.

@QuixoticSoul So many beneficial fungi. Bacteria too.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@SimplyTracie Hell, when you look at it in a certain way, we are walking meat armor for an ancient bacterial symbiont 😳

It might be good fertilizer for the garden after all...🤔
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Peaches Maybe. I googled the question and the answer was...

Yes. Because pond scum and algae are living organisms, they are rich sources of nitrogen that break down quickly in the compost pile. Using pond scum as fertilizer also incorporates important nutrients, such as potassium and phosphorus, into the compost.

But, I’m not sure if that blue-green stuff is contaminated.

@SimplyTracie Yeah, 😖I wouldn't wanna touch it!
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Peaches I agree. 😷
