The job hunt is ridiculous out there
I have a decent job, but I'd like a better one. So here I go searching and... empty postings, nobody actually hiring, or insane requirements (4 years management for, quite literally, an overnight shelf stocker). So then you look around for tips, and my all time favorite:
Just volunteer for experience!
If you have plenty of money, don't have bills, and all the time in the world, sure, go ahead. But more often than not volunteering won't lead to a job, connections, or advancement. Telling people to work for free to give them a "chance" at a real job won't work for most people.
