Seamstress and more!
When me and my wife adopted our 4 kids Becky had to make a choice.......Work from home or not adopt the kids. Becky tried a few different things that never really worked out, then COVID hit. For as much as it sucked for some people it turned into a huge business opportunity. Becky started making face masks and shipped them around the world. One thing led to another, and a new business was born. Fast forward to 2024 and her sewing business had grown to the point where we needed to move her out of the house and into her own workspace. We own the land across the road from our house, so we decided to build her shop over there. I broke ground May 5th 2024, the shell of the building was up midway through July and by November 11th the interior was done. I spent the next week installing the furnace and the wiring and by the end of the month she was moved in and open for business.
Now we're in January of '26, sewing is still the core of her business, but we've grown well beyond that. She now has a little retail store with handmade crafts and home goods, farm fresh eggs live bait and fishing tackle. Becky does the work, I mostly manage the business for her. It's her baby, so I let her just do her thing and focus on making sure she has everything she needs. Last year we added a small poultry farm to the mix with 150+ laying hens and quite a few ducks. I'm proud of what we built together, and looking forward to seeing it grow even more!
