14 years as shop and towing yard owner

It has been 14 years as an auto repair shop and towing yard owner for me. It has been worth it for me so far. Worked there since I was 15, dad got me in as an apprentice mechanic and it worked out. Saw I was like my dad with a good work ethic keeping my work area clean and cleaned up my messes I made right away. Started with tire rotations and oil changes knowing I had to move my way up, Then it was with brakes and engine work moving up more. I learned a lot from it, Knew not to step into the tool truck my first year. One day the Snap On dealer came, he tried to get me into a better tool knew I could not afford telling him no. I was 16 and dad finally had a talk with him on it. Said I was right, could not afford it and agreed with me. It was different when dad passed when I was 17. I got things done knowing I learned from him. Did quality work. 3 years into and on my 18th birthday, boss surprised me with a newer toolbox, a new Snap On KRL with a top box which I still have. Was excited and loved it. It was in 2012, I bought my boss out which went through. Talked to a financial advisor giving me great. Said he was going to retire in November of 2011 and told him I would like to buy him out. Finally told me lets make a deal and got a loan which I did pay off in 2021. Paperwork went through good and made it a deal in January of 2012 getting the keys handed to me signing the papers. I am good to my employees and oldest daughter works there as a mechanic. Youngest daughter is a tow truck driver. Plus I have my 2 younger brothers and mom come in for repairs on their vehicles. My 2 younger brothers are not mechanically inclined at all. I also have great customers and have fired the bad ones.
