I want to own a business. Why should my potential future employees get what I get?

Why should they share ownership of my business? Why shouldn't I keep most of the profit while paying them minimum wage? It is my idea, my business, my effort, and my loss if it fails.

It's about balances, not necessarily equality. Why should ANYONE work for minimum wages when those minimum wages are not enough to live on.

Your product must bring in enough to make it worth their while.

Or don't even put it on the market!

A living wage today is no less than 60 thousand a year on bottom end.

If you can't pay that, you shouldn't be in business! Your product is not worth it otherwise.

Look up living wage. Few in business want to pay it.

@DeWayfarer Why aren't they enough to live on? It seems governments are spending money on things we do not need or want them to.

I would consider having higher wages for my staff. Their work ethic and desire to stay with you is about how you treat them. Some bosses are on power trips and they treat employees like garbage, or try to be in competition with them. You could pay employees a lot of money, but if you treat them poorly, they will still want to leave.

@emiliya This is a living wage in my area!

No employer will pay it!

@emiliya Go to ANY state you wish!

The living wage is ALWAYS far higher than the minimum wage ANYWHERE in the whole country!
