I'm getting a minimum wage job and converting all wages earned into cryptocurrency. Is this a good idea?

It depends on the cryptocurrency. I would not touch anything other than Bitcoin. And if you have no savings, it is too risky to put your money in that because even thought it may go up in value over time, in the short term it is very volatile.
