Both the USA and the EU are facing labor shortages and keeping immigrants away by force- Why?

Does it make sense?

Can’t the people already there do some work, are you a globalist
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
@ididntknow if you favor allowing people to go where their needed, that's globalist. I'll keep it in mind. Closed borders are nstionslist, I guess. Even if it hurts.

@Stopmakingsense
Easy maths,
More labour at hand = lower wages,
More jobs than labour = higher wages,
Which explains why I have just had a 30% increase in my wages since Brexit,
Open borders does not benefit working people, it benefits the employer’s / companies,
That’s why the globalists love open borders, not because they feel sorry for people from other countries, but because it depresses wages, benefiting them, not us,

I'm very global in my thinking and it makes sense to let people move where they want to go, especially if it is beneficial for everyone.

@Doomflower what explains the policy of all developed countries to limit immigration to a tiny number of highly skilled workers?
