Is it odd to buy food for workers working on your house?

My son thinks it's weird but it's hot outside they're working hard on putting the pool in so I think Gatorade, water and pizza is appropriate.

I think your son is wierd. Now it's true that not every person would think to treat the workers nice like that. After all, you owe them MONEY according to whatever contract was signed. I'm sure the contract said nothing about gatorade, water and pizza. However, workers are human. To be kind to any human on your property is not just appropriate, but almost expected. Even if you are paying them to be there, you are a HOST. If you think you can make them more comfortable by filling them with gatorade and water and pizza, that is being a good host. Not wierd at all...
Not necessary. But I guarantee you those particular workers are doing an extra-good job of installing the pool....

@mikeylyksit I got made fun of before by my ex and him for making muffins and providing coffee for the plumbers when our sewer backed up years ago. I see it as tokens of appreciation. You are right I am the host and I want to make sure everyone and everything is ok. I guess this is what happens when you grow up working in your parents restaurant.

@afterlight Well, you might be more sympathetic to workers because you grew up WORKING in a restaurant (and that is hard work). But I totally agree with your viewpoint as it being tokens of appreciation. Even if you pay people to do a job, they still need to be appreciated...not just paid. Don't ever change...we need more people who think like you do.
