It's a Flicker nest-box, but we are sure a Flicker did not nest in it last year. Looks more like a squirrel has made himself a home! We are cleaning out the nest box and putting clean wood shavings in it for the birds to start nesting with for Spring. We were a little late this year - this should have been done early March.
