I got bribed by a magpie today

We have fed a pair that inhabit the park next door for a decade now and as the territory passes from one generation to the next we have built up a real relationship. We can come and go without worrying about them swooping anyone on our land is left alone. In the summer I keep the birdbaths filled with clean water, and in the nesting season (now) we suppliment their food with minced beef. The idea is not to make them tame and reliant on us. But to make it easy for them to thrive. It feels good for the soul to have a wild thing trust you..😷
